Day 2 of the Dopey Challenge brings the 10K. Again, another super early start. This race is also primarily through Epcot and starts right outside the park in the parking lot. The 10K was themed to Minnie Mouse and she was represented on the medal, so that is who I decided to dress as this day! Another freezing cold morning ahead.
After lots of fireworks, we were on our way off! The first 3 miles or so of the 10K are all on roads and backstage areas, but they do a great job at providing entertainment and character stops along the way.
After a little over 3 miles, we entered Epcot, in the same spot as the 5K, between Mexico and Norway.
We took a similar path, running through the countries and exiting out the International Gateway. But this time, we continued on running through the Boardwalk area. This is one of my favorite places to run in all the Disney races. That loop around Crescent Lake is always beautiful in the early morning.
We re-entered Epcot and continued on the loop of World Showcase, then had a similar finish through the front of the park, around Spaceship Earth, and out into the parking lot to cross the finish line.
This 10K course is always one of my favorite courses at Disney, and once again it did not disappoint.
